Dr. Chinmay Pandya

is the grandson of Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya Ji (1911-1990), a distinguished scholar, seer, and philosopher of contemporary India, is the founder of the All World Gayatri Pariwar fraternity. This organization has garnered a membership exceeding 100 million and established numerous global centres dedicated to social reform.

Pro-Vice Chancellor

Presently, Dr. Pandya holds the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV). Following his medical studies in India, Dr. Pandya pursued further training in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). In London, he progressed through the ranks of the British National Health Service (NHS) and was appointed Associate Specialist in Older People’s Services at the West London Mental Health Trust. In this capacity, he managed patients with various psychiatric disorders, with a specific focus on the treatment of dementia associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

As a Mentor at DSVV

In 2010, he returned to India and DSVV, heeding an inner calling. Today, Dr. Pandya holds multiple roles in the life of his university and beyond. He is the Editor of the Dev Sanskriti, an Interdisciplinary International Journal that addresses a broad range of Indian intellectual interests, including Vedic Philosophy, Culture, Psychology, Communication, Education, Ayurveda, Indian and Eastern studies, and religious pedagogies. As Vice President of the Indian Yoga Association, he leads efforts to analyze and advance the scientific and philosophical understanding of yoga, meditation, and stress management in contemporary contexts. He is the Chairperson of the International Festival of Yoga, Culture, and Spirituality and has convened over two hundred national and international colloquia at DSVV on issues ranging from the rights of indigenous people to water desalination. He is responsible for the university’s ethos, academic rigor, and policy implementation.

Shaping Culture, Education, and Global Leadership

  • Dr. Pandya serves on the Governing Body of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
  • He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH).
  • He is a member of the Syllabus Restructuring Committee of the National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE).
  • He is one of five institutional leaders from around the world, including those from the University of Cambridge and the University of Virginia, to be a Director of the Global Covenant of Religions (GCR).
  • He is the Founder and Patron of Rishihood University, India.
  • He has served on the Board of Trustees of the India Development Foundation (IDF).
  • He is also a member of the esteemed National Cultural Fund (NCF) of the Ministry of Culture, India.

Bridging Cultures, Faith & Innovation

AI Faith and Civil Society Commission

Dr. Chinmay Pandya attended the inaugural ceremony of the AI Faith and Civil Society Commission in Abu Dhabi. His presence underscored the integration of spirituality with artificial intelligence, emphasising its ethical and societal implications.

Vedic Literature of Revered Gurudev Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya Ji at Vilnius University, Lithuania

In a significant event that highlighted the cultural similarities between Baltic culture and ancient Indian culture, Dr. Chinmay Pandya presented the Indian Vedic literature authored by Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya Ji to Vilnius University. This event was also graced by HE Shri Devesh Uttam, the Honorable Ambassador of India to Lithuania.

World Religious Summit in Hiroshima, Japan

Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the sole Indian representative, solemnly signed the historic Hiroshima Appeal. The ceremony commenced with a moment of silence and a floral tribute at the site of the atomic bomb’s devastation, conducted by Dr. Pandya and a select group of dignitaries.

Baltic Culture and Studies

Dr. Chinmay Pandya holds the position of chairman of Asia’s inaugural and exclusive Centre for Baltic Culture and Studies, established at DSVV, Haridwar, to commemorate the unique cultural connections that India shares with the Baltic nations.

South Asian Institute of Peace & Reconciliation

Dr. Chinmay Pandya also serves as the chairman of SAIPR, established at DSVV in collaboration with the University of Winchester, UK, to foster research in the domains of religion, peacebuilding, and reconciliation.
