Dr. Chinmay Pandya

Dr. Chinmay Pandya is the grandson of Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya Ji (1911–1990), the distinguished scholar, seer, philosopher, and founder of All World Gayatri Pariwar. The organization has grown into a global fraternity with more than 100 million members and numerous centres dedicated to spiritual awakening, social reform, and cultural renaissance.

Pro-Vice Chancellor

Dr. Pandya currently serves as Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. After completing his medical studies in India, he pursued further training in the United Kingdom and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). In London, he served in the British National Health Service and was appointed Associate Specialist in Older People’s Services at the West London Mental Health Trust. In this role, he treated patients with various psychiatric conditions, with particular focus on dementia associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

As a Mentor at DSVV

In 2010, Dr. Pandya returned to India and DSVV in response to an inner calling. Today, he serves the University and society through multiple roles. He is the Editor of Dev Sanskriti: Interdisciplinary International Journal, which addresses areas such as Vedic philosophy, culture, psychology, communication, education, Ayurveda, Indian and Eastern studies, and religious pedagogy.

As Vice President of the Indian Yoga Association, he contributes to the advancement of the scientific and philosophical understanding of yoga, meditation, and stress management. He is also Chairperson of the International Festival of Yoga, Culture, and Spirituality and has convened more than 200 national and international colloquia at DSVV on themes ranging from indigenous rights to water desalination. He plays a key role in shaping the University’s ethos, academic rigor, and policy implementation.

Bridging Cultures, Faith & Innovation

AI Faith and Civil Society Commission

Dr. Chinmay Pandya attended the inaugural ceremony of the AI Faith and Civil Society Commission in Abu Dhabi. His presence highlighted the importance of integrating spirituality with artificial intelligence, with emphasis on ethical and societal implications.

Vedic Literature at Vilnius University, Lithuania

In an event highlighting the cultural similarities between Baltic culture and ancient Indian culture, Dr. Pandya presented the Vedic literature authored by Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya Ji to Vilnius University, Lithuania. The event was also graced by H.E. Shri Devesh Uttam, Ambassador of India to Lithuania.

World Religious Summit in Hiroshima, Japan

As the sole Indian representative, Dr. Pandya solemnly signed the historic Hiroshima Appeal. The ceremony began with a moment of silence and a floral tribute at the site of the atomic bomb devastation, offered by Dr. Pandya and other dignitaries.

Baltic Culture and Studies

Dr. Pandya serves as Chairman of Asia’s first and exclusive Centre for Baltic Culture and Studies, established at DSVV, Haridwar, to celebrate the cultural connections between India and the Baltic nations.

South Asian Institute of Peace & Reconciliation

Dr. Pandya also serves as Chairman of the South Asian Institute of Peace and Reconciliation, established at DSVV in collaboration with the University of Winchester, UK. The institute promotes research in religion, peacebuilding, and reconciliation.
